<< <i>A 1877 in MS63 is priced at $4743 which is about AU money. I think it is wishful thinking. Also, just because prices are not rounded to the nearest 10 or 5 do you think it makes it seem more accurate? >>
I have to modify the chart since the 1877 MS63 value is for Brown examples as is all the values. It can be bought for this value, one recource HA.com
The price not being rounded isn't an attempt to make them appear more accurate. It wasn't even a thought. Why does that matter? I could have added the change then that would be over the top. We used online auction final values, and price guides, to come up with a fair market average for BN IHC's.

<< <i>OK, I get it, it is a mathematical average of auction prices. I would specifically list BN, RB and RD in the grade tiles. Copper series tend to vary greatly due to spotted or overgrading, which lowers values at auction. These type of statistics tend to lower the market because of this. It is important to be able to show the data ponts. Also, how far back do you get your data? >>
Correct.
BN has been added, since that's what the values are mostly based on, nothing RD. These charts are for the average collector that buys online and not high end dealer or buyer prices. Disclaimers are being added to reflect this fact. The charts are 2011 auction final values. So, the latest possible data is used.
We're not trying to compete with other price guides nor be authoritive on coin values. The charts should appeal to collectors that spend time buying at online auction venues, or people who want to sell their coins, or get an idea of their coin's values. Because we all know how fluid coin values can be, and grading service, eye appeal, etc. can affect values.
We have a small team and have spent this entire year updating and expanding these charts, so it's still a work in progress, and always will be in progress. I knew I could get some good pointers by posting here and I appreciate the feedback. My main goal is to serve collector's interest and not lead them astray on values or coin facts.
