Where are you seeing this cert number?
Not saying that I believe this listing is legitimate.
i'll bet he can , if you cant afford to be burned for 650 he'll happily burn you for 5 large
Exit bunker, enter Matrix. LOL
.
from what i see it was listed as an:
ANACS AU55 - one nice 55
cert: 4307232
doesn't look like an anacs holder either, obviously "borrowed" from an ngc image
also this is why i am so against sharing of images, besides the violation of ebay policy
the person may actually receive an anacs au55 authentic coin and holder, maybe they just "borrowed" an image of the same date coin
if all goes wrong, at least the buyer has ebay and paypal on their side, unless they don't know any better
unfortunately besides the "borrowed" image, there actually isn't any problems
since the item just ended, we will have to wait in suspense, i will watch for feedback now to salve my curiosity

Only thing can hope for is they get a MSxx quarter eagle otherwise it's time for buyer protection as money will be held until feedback is given with the new seller.
wasn't a quarter but a quarter eagle. Zero feedback is a big plus. Funny, never thought of Passaic, NJ as scam central.
Don't see a New Orleans mint mark mentioned anywhere? But seller does list it as from the "New York" mint...lol.

it should up on my "pcgs o -morgan" listing search.
Description changed between pulling up and completing purchase. Went in the other room to get my daughter's soup.
I thought it was a 1906-o eagle at a bargin price, or a scam I could dispute it I got nothing.
I was here scratching my head trying to figure out how I missed the quarter and the lack of the "o"
Looks like I will have to figure out how to deal with it.
<< <i>The seller changed the description after I linked it. It said PCGS originally!! It came up on my PCGS search. >>
thank you for that info!

I will stick to a deal if all the info is accurate and I burn myself based on a bad assumption, but
in this case if something does come in the mail we will see if it matchs the picture.

Pretty simple. They are auctioning off something that is either misdescribed or a scam. Before I sent off any payment I would communicate to them that you missed
some of the obvious flaws in the listing. Either they need to show you the cert of the "perfect unc" MS63 or better 1906 NGC $2-1/2 Lib you just bought or cancel the auction if it's an ANACS coin that had the wrong picture shown. If it were me I wouldn't send a penny before this was cleared up...even if it is via paypal. Better to be a deadbeat bidder than a scammed
bidder. The coin shown looks to be gem or nearly so. Then again could be in an NGC AU55 details holder due to a cleaning. Last New Orleans quarter eagle minted was in 1857. Being
able to buy the only 1906-0 $2-1/2 Lib in existence would have been an unusual opportunity.

the last thing i would say you are is an idiot
if it is a scam you didn't make the person choose to do it
also if the seller changed info before you bid that is also not your doing
and on top of everything, that is what the paypal protection is supposed to be for
ebay and paypal simply need to make it more difficult to create seller accounts
or maybe it is just like insurance companies, so long as you have more coming in than going out, all is well and the stock goes up

I would contact Paypal right away and explain about the changed listing and see if they'll cancel payment.
Added:
If you did not pay yet then contact the seller to cancel or contact ebay if the seller does not cancel it.
Little while later visited the listing and realized that there was no "1906-O" in the listing. Checked and saw the
description and title had been modified 8 mins prior to buying. When I got home from work I did my usual search
"o pcgs -morgan" new listings, and pulled up about 5 new listings of interest. Pretty PCGS AU58 barber dimes just
listed. Looked at those, took the soup of for my daughter.
Saw this listing, thought this is either a 1906-O eagle bargin with a poor description or a scam. Figured I give it a shot.
Once I revisited and the "O" was gone realized it was probably a quarter eagle.
I am pretty sure that paypal will hold the money for a while for a new seller. I will wait and see what comes in the
mail before determining course of action. Most likely a registered return and dispute.
Never had a title / description changed between pulling up the listing and pressing BIN before.
I'd also have the package opened under the Postal Inspector's eye, with a video, or something similar.

Refunded $650. Kept the $20 shipping charge.
Didn't send any message.
I googled his name. Came up with a 18 year old male in NJ.
This has been an interesting 2 hours.
I need to learn to be more carefully with bargins. Have a habit of doing BIN to quick to get something before someone else does.
Sometimes I burn myself. Sometimes I get a Win.
Such as:
CC bag bought on ebay
and resold to pay for daughters college books for Fall Semester
<< <i>Seller partially refunded.

1. All certified coin listings MUST show a picture of both the obverse and reverse
2. All certified coin listings MUST show a picture of the holder
3. Coin is stated to be in an ANACS holder, but, it is in an NGC holder (SNAD)
Contact Ebay to advise them and they will remove his listing and refund your payment through PayPal.
