BIG THANK YOU TO MATT! (MBMiller25)

I wanted to publicly thank Matt (MbMiller25). I was in Charlotte this past week on business and I haven't seen Matt since early July, so this was our chance to get together to talk family, work-- and of course sports and sports cards. I met Matt Wednesday in downtown Charlotte for a fantastic meal and then drove over to his house on Thursday to see him and his wonderful family. I go through Matt's newest pick ups and think, "damn his collection is stellar!" All I can say is the 53' Mantle he picked up is twice the card it is in hand versus seeing it on a scan. He hands me a 1984 Topps Football rack pack and says, "This is yours." I'm like, "What?" He says, "Yea bro I picked this up for you when I was at the National this year. I bought this for you." I was completely taken aback, since I couldn't attend the national due to other family obligations and Matt knew I was getting into unopened football packs. I was like WOW!!!! If you guys don't know this already, Matt and I are best friends; brothers from another mother. We were each other's best man at our respective weddings.

I don't want to embarrass Matt, but I wanted to share his generosity and what a great friend he truly is.

This year at the National, I had the privilege of hanging out with Matt, Neil and Kirk (there was a 4th CU member, but his name is slipping my mind right now). Matt is an extremely nice and generous guy. Very cool gift he gave you.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Wow, I'm a bit embarrassed by all this. Thanks for the nice comments guys, i try to treat people like i want to be treated. I wish everyone had the opportunity to grow up and have a friend like Bobby. We have so many memories as kids collecting cards and chasing autographs. I never had an older brother as a sibling, but Bobby was a like one in many ways. Alright enough of the sappy stuff, I'm going to grab a beer now. image
