Return policy on selling ungraded coins?

What do you think? When you sell an ungraded coin, and have a nice picture on your ebay item, do you offer a return?

Awesome, thank you so much for your input! I've never sold coins before. I am taking the advice of a great board member (Tdec) I met on here, and trying my luck at buying some nice Morgan's from the local Assay Dealer and seeing if I can turn a little profit.

    Thank you!

  • eBay allows you to list "No Returns" sales, but PayPal makes it difficult to hold buyers, by virtue of their bids, to their "agreement" to your terms. If you're planning on selling even semi-regularly (as opposed to clearing out the closet), having a return policy is the path of least resistance, that's for sure.

I'd love to buy back any coin I ever sold on eBay for the price it sold for. Heck, I'd even pay the shipping.

Ouch! I hope you at least made up for it with volume.

I won't bid on an item unless there is a "no questions asked" return policy, whether raw or certified.
I pretty much stopped buying raw coins on eBay except from a couple of sellers with whom I've done business and trust.

Effectively, eBay does not have a "No Returns" policy is PayPal is used. A buyer can claim (legitimately or not) that the item was not as described, open a case, and the buyer will be able to return the item and receive a refund. I recommend just stating a "no questions asked" return policy for whatever period of time makes you comfortable. A "returns policy" will increase the bidders since it indicates that you probably are reasonable as a seller.

eBay is just about forcing a 14 day money back return policy on sellers so why fight the trend. Once the buyers think it is only way to go your left out in the cold if you don;t go with the trend.

Irrespective of what I'm buying on eBay, if a seller doesn't offer a return policy I think something's fishy and refuse to bid.
As stated, eBay has effectively negated its "no returns" option with its buyer friendly "Buyer Protection" policy.
Best to go with the flow and offer returns, since the buyer is in the driver's seat anyway.
