Hey all...if I post a photo of a 1964 Accented Hair Proof half, will you guys/gals help me grade it and/or determine if I should send it in? There are no dealers around me, so I'd have to join Collectors Club but if you all think it'd be worth it, I'll give it a go.
Also, it's still in the original mint plastic...to get a good grade-guess from you all, would I need to break it out of the plastic? I've got a flatbed scanner and a Nikon D90 but don't have any macro lenses.
Thanks in advance!
Jeremy
Check out these photos: link - Note that scratches/dust is from the 1964 celo, not the coin.

<< <i>Unless it's a cameo or deep cameo it may not be worth the price of admission to get it slabbed. >>
Thanks for the reply!
See that's the reason I need some help. In certain light, I can make the fields go black while Kennedy's head shines nicely. However, looking straight on (depending on lighting) it looks all silver.
What's the best way to determine if I've got a cameo on my hands?

I wish it were this simple as the Accented Hair Kennedy has quite a few very nice DDO and DDR coins which some folks would pay a lot of money for.
Get some nice detailed scan in the cello for some opinions. 2400 dpi or higher.
Zoom in on the motto for large scans if possible.

Great, will do. I'll be home in about two hours and I'll update the thread with some high-res scans. Also will take a few shots with the camera...any specific lighting requested?

A good DCAM coin will have devices that can be nearly white in appearance.
Above is a scan.

Thanks for the help all.
It'll cost you $14 plus fee's (Shipping/Handling) to get graded and could net you possibly $45 if you sold it.
Personally, I'd wait to get it graded until you have looked at more AH Kennedy's and/or have more modern coins to submit. Modern is anything from 1956 to date.
