I am not a fan of the Phillies or the Cardinals...but I AM a fan of the game of baseball, pitching duels and these 2 fantastic athletes!! I hope they both do well tonight!

    both series are a 100% crapshoot. the only guaranteed losers here are the sponsors.

    missouri.
    wisconsin.


    they're going to set all time ratings LOWS. especially from down northeast numbers where heavy duty Yankees and Phillies favorites suffered massively disappointing first round losses. the casual fans will be so turned off they wont watch another game.

    I think the network execs at Fox just laid one in their pants...

    It's like shouting at a brick but maybe, just maybe, the MLB media will finally realize that major league baseball exists outside of the Northeast. To them Major League Baseball doesn't extend beyond the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Nationals and Braves.

    What are you talking about? The eggspurts over at ESPN is still predicting the Red Sox vs the Phillies for 2011 WS... Red Sox oc take it...

    What an awesome game! This is why I love baseball. Carpenter was unreal and there were some great defensive plays but Halladay pitched his heart out as well. 1-0 playoff games are pretty rare so this was quite a treat. So far this year's playoffs have been fantastic!!!

    Carpenter reminded me of Glavine in the '95 World Series 1-hitter. Unhittable. Lots of people can do it during the regular season, few can do it in the playoffs under the big lights. Great outing...
