Wow, I didn't think the mint would drop it that much.

the way things are going, silver will hit $50.00 BY November 15th, then they will "chase the spot" reprice again!

  • I'm glad I canceled my original order.
Too bad it's WAY past the return deadline or I'd send my Mt. Hood back for a refund.
Ordered the Gettysburg and it is backordered til the last week of October.

Just called the mint and my 5 5 oz getty are being shipped and they did not re-price even thoug they were not available for shipping during the re-pricing period. Great busines, sell something for about a day and then say it's not available the next for orders or shipping and then 2 weeks later stick you $250 in the hole. I thought about cancelling the order during the re-price but nowhere did I think there was any possibility that they would no re-price orders on hold. This is an unheard of ripp off.

I agree the Mint should have repriced orders on hold.
Just send 'em back and order at the new price.
But you'll still be out the postage - both ways image
  • Send them back for credit and mark "changed mind"....reorder after the credit is applied

They called me about 2 years ago and said I could not return coins anymore.

$229. Could 'nt turn that down. Bought the Gettysburg. Looks like I will be collecting the 2011's MS raw along with the PCGS FS DMPLs 69 First Strikes as well.
  • Wonder how many collectors got stuck with the $279 price ?
The Mint should have repriced these befor shipping....

    Wrong... Just wrong....

No one will be stuck with them.

    EVERYONE will return them.

They increased the mintage to 35,000 and only sold 9K. At some point, very soon, the limit of 5 will be raised and you can buy.

I really think it was stupid to not reprice the orders on hold, at $50 a coin, no one is going to keep them.

Evidently not. My advice for those that have unshipped orders is to cancel right now and simply reorder at the new price.

I guess the "Federal Register" announcement is wrong.

I saw nothing in the FR for the pricing changes.

Jut re-ordered mine. I had previously cancelled mine at the higher price.

They would not let me cancel my 2011 AGE MS 1 oz even when they had the cancel box still available. The price dropped $50. They want you to go through the hoops of shipping it back to them.

Anything over $500/oz gold and $20/oz silver is stupid. I may never own any new gold again, but seriously!!!

Perhaps the distribution center for the Mint is a private contractor and gets paid by how many shipped, is the reason prices are not re-adjusted before shipping? Just a guess-------------------------BigE
