Wow, I didn't know these 1987 Steve Youngs were fetching this kind of cash...

1987 BGS 9.5
Perhaps I should start going through some of these.....

I only have 314 of them though......

If you look at the bidding on the BGS version the third bidder had a max of $27 and then a 0 feedback bidder who came in for a lot of bids and was the under bidder. The 0 feedback bidder only bid on two items in total with 31% of his 16 total bids with the seller.
Seems a little iffy to me.
I would use a range of $21 to $30 when counting your potential cash.
The risk is obviously if you get 9's when you sub them you will loose money with the grading fee and EBAY fees assuming you get the $7.97 for all of them.
Not trying to rain on your parade just pointing these little data points out to you.
<< <i>Interesting that a BGS 9.5 sold for 7 times the PSA 10 which went for $21.50. I just checked the recent sales and a PSA 9 went for $7.97 and a BGS 9 for $3.58.

Ahhh, no parade raining allowed! JK man, there was obviously something shilled on that listing. I wouldnt submit the Youngs anyways, probably just my Cunninghams, Kelly's, and Paytons. I think 9s or 10s would be acceptable for those, and I have nearly 600 of each
peace

you could really up the pop report and make the card almost worthless
<< <i>how do u have soo many of each(600) are u kidding?
peace >>
No kidding, bought a bunch of cut card cases a while back. I would say out of the 600 of each, maybe 45 to 50 of each could end up in a Psa or bgs 9.0 or better slab. 400 of so in 8 or 8.5, and the rest would not have a chance due to centering/ or corner issues. Should be able to make a decent profit on them, if I could ever find the time.
Eventually, I plan on screening them out for 9 or better, and selling the bulk quantities on ebay or something.
Good thing is I have Fluties, Walkers, Montanas, Elways, etc in similair quantities.
<< <i>On the modern stuff, PSA just wants to see sharp corners and nice centering, BGS wants to see almost perfect centering and sharp corners. HArd to have to both from a mid 80's topps card. >>
I like my chances
<< <i>The centering sucks on the BGS 9.5, for it to be a 9.5 that is. >>
The centering did get a 9 though.
<< <i>Why would he put PSA 10 in the title of his auction? Hoping people won't notice the real grade? >>
A PSA 10 sells for a third of what this card sold for.

<< <i>Hi, I just happened to notice this thread. I was wondering if you had any 1987 Topps Football cards of Rufus Bess (Card # 212)? He was with the Minnesota Vikings. I need around 25 of them for him and his relatives. Thank you very much.

Hi there, give me a few days and I will wade through some of the commons and see if I can locate them...should have them somewhere. Free + shipping if I can find em.

Wow - that would be greatly appreciated. Once you find them, let me know how I could pay you for shipping.
Thanks a lot and take care!

No problem, I am hoping that this card is not from sheet "B" though. I know I still have all the commons from sheets "A" and "C", but I think the sheet "B" commons I had got unloaded a while back.
I have had the sheet "B" cards for years, and I know I unloaded the commons a while back, because there were just so many. I just recently bought the sheet "A" and "C" cut card cases, and have not had time to unload the commons yet.
I'll let you know bud.

Hello again,
Just got done doing some research, and that card is from sheet "B". I looked through about 4 boxes of commons, and I have no sheet "B" commons left. Sorry bud, I did try though.
