<< <i>I had a few of those just like them and they told me it was strike doubling so i spent them..I guess i wasn't the right person to send them in. >>
Photo sure looks like machine doubling.
...here's one
...it is rather cool.

I'm not really seeing anything in your link.
Check out the story on the CONECA website which offers a much clearer picture of the doubling which, IMO, cannot be mistaken as Machine Doubling.
I'm of the opinion that stories such as what was published on Numismatic News should have more than just a simply, barely discernable photograph for the impact of the find to be truly appreciated.
IMO, this is one to look for.

<< <i>Yep, if you think that is MDD, you have no business looking for varieties anyways. >>

I agree! Thanks for posting the CONECA link! I was not aware of this variety. Seems to be up there with the 1958 DDO in terms of rarity.

There are MANY coins up there with the 1958 DDO in terms of rarity but no where near the popularity of the 58 DDO.
It's all about whats popular and not necessarily rarity.

Prolly' because not too many people know about it or really look at 1966 cent for double dies. I never heard of it before this thread and now I have to go back and check all my 1966 cents sometime. Then too it could just be super rare like the 1969-S double die.
