Very pleased overall once again with these results. Sub was logged August 25 and popped September 30. Received coast to coast in one business day, can't beat that! Will post scans, too!

    very nice! are these "new" slabs that psa is using lately going to be "the norm" going forward?
    they look really well in the scans ive seen

    Yes, this submission and the last one I had featured newly-designed holders without the raised plastic tabs holding the packs.

    Kidding aside, awesome sub Tim. Congrats, especially on that 75 Carter/Winfield mini!!! Those are hard to come by.

    Cool packs! I thought the card on the front had to be centered with the grade guideline for the raw card to get the pack grade. For example, the Murray would have to be within PSA 9 guidelines for the pack to get a 9. No?

    They should continue using the tabbed holders for the mini packs. I don't like the plastic sleeve look.

    Gemmint,

    Centering of the top card is not integral to pack grading. The grade is based primarily on condition and centering of the wrapper as well as the seal on back and whether there is any cloudiness or gum dust inside the wrapper. You can have a perfectly centered card on top but if there is a split in the wrapper it's no better than a PSA 6.

    The mini cellos were never housed in holders with tabs. PSA has always used that shrinkwrap method for the cello packs. The mini wax pack holders had the tabs.

    Edit to add: I just checked the PSA pack grading guidelines and it states that centering of top card on a PSA 9 should be 80/20 or better, so requirements are definitely less stringent than for card grading.
