How does the new 20MwV type set work for you?

I'm not sure why Mirror Man tops me (congrats MM!). I've got him in the Barber half, he has me with more 70s. As there is no gold in this set I lose my advantage there. At least we know the formula so we can double check the rankings.

I just noticed that DMPL Morgans get no extra point. I guess there were already too many columns in the bonus/penalty spreadsheet image

I also noticed that my clad 2000 Kennedy won't work any more image It didn't have the strongest cameo contrast anyway so there you go, an upgrade opportunity.

  • Carl,

My guess is that MM's set is higher because he beats you out by about a point on the Barber Dime, Barber Quarter, Liberty Nickel, and a few other early slots. Other than that, your sets are very close to each other's.

  • Keith, he's got me by one on the Lib Nick and Barber Quarter but my PR 63 Cam Barber dime should be the same as his MS 64. Yes, these are very close sets.

Well I'm off to the Santa Clara show today. If they have any cameo 1907 Lib Nicks I can buy I just might do that image I'm sticking with my quarter for now.

I like it! I went from somerwhere around number 19 to number 10 overnight. image The problem that I now have is that I have no desire to own an accented hair Kennedy, a slabbed silver proof state quarter, or a narrow-rim SBA. I don't believe they should be required in the set.

Congrats on your number one spot, Bill!

  • Carl,
It must be that totally awsome PR70DCAM Jefferson that does the trick.image

It does look like there may be a few bugs left in the system in the way the coins are scored. By the time all the empty slots are filled in I think the order will change back again.

Anyone got a nice 1950 to 1958 proof Lincoln? Shesh!image

  • Looks like they are updating sets today, I hope you saved a screen shot Bill.

Yeah, Larry, it must be the Jeff. I think you will stay ahead of me for a long time if you keep ugrading.

Oh well I'm out of the running until I can trade my Y2K Kennedy for an earlier model and find an accent hair Kennedy. I'm looking for a super deep cameo clad PR 69 DCAM+ Kennedy and will trade for mine plus cash or I'll just pay cash.

I didn't find any cameo 1907 nickels, but I did find an earlier cam nickel I'm looking at and want to buy. I'm not sure about the price nor the one large spot of cloudy white toning. I might go take another look tomorrow if it is still there.

I did finish my 12 piece CS gold type set with my latest purchase today. It is a PQ T3 gold dollar. I'll get a scan of it later.
  • Carl,

    Oh no! Not the Gold!
I had better take a picture of that set too before you add that T3!imageimage

    Bill,

I thought you might have recognized the "Mirror Man" name?

I knew the identity of the mysterious Mirror Man all along... and I wasn't tellin'. bwahahahah image

Carl, I still haven't found anything out about the NGC PR66 1907 nickel that my local dealer has. (I think it's 1907-mighta been 1906- or a PR65- but I don't think so). Just missed him the other day. Like I said earlier, it might or might not be a CAM. I remember it having a light CAM contrast, but I don't think it has the designation on the label. Still fuzzy on the details...

I just put up a 100% 20th C. gold set (the 8-piece one). The score was 62 even. We'll see where I debut. So I now have 3 type sets: the Big One, the C/N/S, and the 8-pc. 20th C. gold.
