i always have a difficult time telling an ended *unsold* listing from one that sold
they seem very very easy to mistake for each other

i`m REAL close to the seller in the first auction. i should ask him if i can pick it up local and pay cash. bet he says no.
If someone needs a 'Type' Saint Doily, well, I guess here is your chance, but the data provided by Kove is revealing. $2014.00 was the actual last sale on this one and eBay Doilies REALLY get bid UP. That is about what the Doily Saints in roughly this grade have sold for (to me at least). My cheapest was $1525 here at a shop in town (gold @ $1550), and my most expensive was $2000 here on the Boards (gold @ $1840), with a couple others in between. My thoughts are that many of these $2200 - $2600 fishing expeditions are coming up with empty stringers. The actual sales seem to be around $2k and I think that is what a few of the other Doily Saints have sold for as well.
Part of that may be related to the economy. How many Doily Hunters are going to want to cough up $2600 for a coin that has a $850 Doily Premium when coin shows are going without bourse players and people are struggling? Don't even mention that most of the major Doily 'players' have already added Saints (check out the Census -- this is not a rare Doily) to their repertoire.
So, to sell at $2600 you will need an extremely aggressive Doily Hunter . . . with huge cash to burn . . . that still hasn't added one of the previously much cheaper Doilies to their sets. Yes . . . I am admitting that there aren't that many Doily guys out there willing to part with this kind of cha-ching -- a Morgie is a lot cheaper and satisfies the Doily rush if you are just going after a 'Type' Doily. I for one use the Census at times and realize that although some coins (Doily Saints) are cool, they aren't that rare in a Doily. The Doily premium shrinks when you get to $2k coins. Take a look at any quarter, LibNick, or an Ike. Those are the 'Type' Doily coins (among others).
Just some thoughts and supported by very few facts, but take them as you will!
