A raw Flea market purchase today. Very nice even chocolate brown color. The top pick came out a little dark due to lighting issues! Grade opinions? Anyone have a Newcomb book handy?image Ok, better pic posted!

Market grade AU58 to possible MS....EAC grade is of course lower.
Looks like it needs a bit of the old Coin Care or Blue Ribbon, or maybe some acetone.
And if you want to swap it or sell it, let me know image

What would acetone do for this coin?

Well, I don't like those little greenish spots, but if they don't bother you Baley, bon appetite! I know of EAC pro's using products like this on large cents a heckuva lot more valuable than this coin.

I wouldn't ever think about messing with this coin! The spots are no big deal to me and barely noticeable in hand because of the sweet chocolate surfaces. I'm all about originalimage

A guess for attribution without bigger pics, or seeing the coin
in hand is an N-19 r.2 M-LDS . A lot of the die lines are
no longer present at this stage.

My feeling about the spots is,,,they may enlarge over time.

I agree. Sometimes conservation is worth more than being "green", if you will.image
