How to proceed after an ebay sale

ajmanajman Posts: 1,359 ✭✭✭
I had an item purchased BIN from a relative newbie ( feedback of 13) yesterday. This person then e-mails me with a concern of authenticity to which I replied that absolutely it was the real deal. He purchased the item @ 9:39 a.m. My question is how long do I wait before sending another invoice and at what point do I file an unpaid bidder strike against this person? The item in question is not a coin but I do occasionally sell a few coins as well. I was planning to send a friendly reminder after 48 hours, and after checking his limited feedback he seems to have been a timely payer. Just not sure how to proceed, the item had a few more days to run and if he ends up not paying that's fine but I feel that I'm losing out on other offers as well.

Do not send another invoice. One is enough. If he does not pay within a few days eBay will automatically move it to a status where you can file a non-payment (I think it it is 4 or 5 days) and the seller gets a strike.

On your next BIN use the option for immediate payment required.

Well when they pay you pack up and ship the item. As for non payment if after ten days you can open a case to get your fees back. Can be done at four days but I find that too soon. As mentioned if you want immediate payment list it that way.

Invoice him every 60 seconds until he pays! image

    Nah!

What does you auction listing say? Payment is expected immediately? Payment is expected in 1/2/3/4 days?

Invoice the buyer again on your expected or required payment date. If payment still does not arrive, send an email and ask if there is a problem then work accordingly.

Make every attempt to open communications with the buyer before doing anything further. Even if it requires multiple emails.

If no payment is received within two weeks of the listings close, then file a dispute with eBay. This should get the buyers attention.

Ebay should make this the default choice and offer the option of allowing more time to the seller.Buy It Now should mean exactly that , i see where the OP is coming from there.

I find it strange that he questions authenticity after hitting the BIN button, but give him some time. Many buyers I've had have waited a few days before paying.
