Thoughts and Prayers for Mickey71-UPDATE from DANNY-10/3

Many of you know Mickey71 or Danny here on the boards. He and I live close to each other and we were planning to meet today to pickup cards from a recent group sub. I called him Thursday and he

was having a health concern and had to have immediate testing that day. Last night his wife left a message saying he had to have emergency surgery yesterday (Friday). To say the least I didn't

sleep well last night worrying about him. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he goes through this. I'll call his wife later to see how everything went. Danny's is a great guy and I call

him, "Baseball card smart", as he knows his stuff. On the 36 cards I submitted and handed over to him on the last sub he pulled one card out of the group within 1 minute and said, "You should do

well with this one". Considering I was lucky enough to receive several 8's and two 8.5's he was spot on. It was the only one to get a 9. Again, keep one of "our family" in your thoughts towards a

speedy recovery. Thanks. Doug

    Updated text from Danny's wife from late yesteday is that he's home from the hospital. Not much more than that as she's probably very busy. I'll call later today to see how he's doing. Doug

    Thanks to everyone for the kind words for me and my family. I am in a battle with cancer. I was told on Wednesday and admitted on Thursday with the 1st procedure on Friday. The 1st procedure was for testicular cancer; but this is going to be a long haul as there is cancer in my stomach which was revealed in the CT scan. I'm actually not really scared...but I am overwhelmed with emotion and know that this is going to be rough. I meet with an oncologist tomorrow to discuss the cycles of chemotherapy and further treatment plan.

    To Neal and Alan...your cards are boxed up and will be mailed tomorrow before the appointment. To Doug...who is a top notch nice guy; we just have to figure out a time to meet.

    Once again thanks for all the well wishes.

    Danny, the cards are the least important thing for sure. Glad that you're home and hope everything works out for the best.

    Danny, like Neal said, we'll deal with the card handoff in due time. You just need to rest and take care of yourself right now. Please call if you need anything and I'll help you out. You have a tough battle but it can be won, and I know you can do it. Take care. Doug
