NOOB question: What's a fair price for 1965-70 halves?

And what's the best place to sell them for top dollar?

Thanks from a true noob!

Generally, these halves sell at a discount to the spot price of silver because they are harder to refine and because they take up more storage space. The best time to sell them is when silver is hot. That probably wouldn't be now.

The best buyer for these is where you find him. That could be ebay, or a place like Silvertowne who probably sends regular shipments to a refiner.

Their silver content is their fair price, but unfortunately they have a negative premium that works just the opposite of quality, .99 or better silver. As a seller I wouldn't sell them for less than 7.5% below spot. as a buyer I wouldn't pay more than 12.5% below spot for them. These are the numbers I personally work with when I look to sell or to buy.
