Finally bought a display case to show a few items in my basement

Have lots of stuff on the walls, but always wanted to pick up a display case to show some of my other items that are just stored in boxes in a closet. Found this display case from around the 40's or 50's on c-list and picked it up this weekend. Thought I'd share what I pulled out to display.

Kewl case! Nice cards & programs. Has to be nice to be able to enjoy looking at your items instead of hiding them in a closet.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

That Yankees lineup card signed by Stengel may just be one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Great display!

Not that I don't like the stuff in the case...but I think the case is really nice! Great job.

  • Very nice indeed! I'm looking to do the same thing but my office/kids play room has red walls and my computer desk is antique black w/ a little dard wood grain on the top. It's hard to find something black. Does your case lock? I'd love to find one that locks... dang kids!
  • Very nice!
btw, what is that Mantle? The one between the Exhibits and Kaline's RC?

Thanks for the kind comments...am enjoying having a place to show stuff.

Good call on the bench rc...just grabbed it to put in on a whim...I agree it doesn't really fit with the rest. Will have to grab another mantle to put in it's place. Lol

Also, the doors don't lock, but they slide shut and are up against the wall so no one can get in it without moving it away from the wall.

That mantle is a 59' bazooka as Brian pointed out earlier...picked that up a couple years ago and didn't know what it was at first either...later found out it's pretty hard to find.

  • Wow an amazing display. Could anyone tell me more about that Hank Aaron Ball? It intrigues me, How much would that have cost back in the day? How rare is that and would it be an auto pen sig or is that the real? I think that is a really cool item, thanks for sharing..

Craig - the Aaron ball is a stamped auto...I figure it probably was about $5-$10 back in the 70's
