Group Case Break, we were able to get a 79 cello box. Will go live tonight, see page 3!

Ive had some PM's about another group pack rip. Let's get some suggestions going. I will be sure to write down the prices this time.
It is Football season, but there is a 76 Topps BB box and a 1979 Topps Cello box.
Reply with your thoughts, and let's give this thread a chance for everyone to give ideas. Would be looking to post a thread Monday night. That gives us a couple days to decide.
Also we should do another Group Pack submission. Maybe after the pack rip we can get one going. I have a bunch to be graded, and I know many of you do too.

I would be up for both 78 & 79 Football Cello and Wax of either year if Steve has any.

Then we can do a Baseball run 76 Wax, 79 Cello, what about OPC?

<< <i>I would like to do the 1978 Topps football cello. I believe it would be $17 a pack. >>
+1
<< <i>Have you ever thought of buying a pack/cello from the 60's where we each buy a card or two in the pack? Example: I'll take the 4th card, Mike takes 7th, Grote takes 10th, etc BEFORE THE PACK IS OPENED where the complete rip from PSA holder crack to looking at all of the cards is done on video, then the individual cards are mailed by the ripper. BBCE has '61, '64, and '67 cellos I'd be interested in. This is about the only way I could afford to do a 60's rip. Also, top and bottom card should be slightly discounted, IMO.

I have had that same thought.
Another option could be: the names of those involved in the rip would be drawn from a hat. The first name gets the first card, the second name gets the second card, and so on. Obviously there would need to be as many participants as cards in the pack or the total participants would have to be a number that would evenly divide into the number of cards in the pack. In the latter case the ripper would just cycle through the list until all cards are exhausted.
Would be a cool idea for a vending box too except it would take forever!

Actually, we didn't sell out the 1976 Football last time!!! I think the 77 is a new wax box.

75 OPC Box
76 Topps Box
78 OPC Case
79 Topps Cello
That's good for Baseball, then we can do the run of Football 77 to 86.
This may take a week to sell out, but I think it's a great selection.

We've been doing this for a few months now over on our Boxbreakers site. Actually Mike is participating as well. We have one upcoming that's an all OPC break (1966-1972) if you have interest?

Anyway I have participated in several off Chris's case and pack breaks. Recently he has been doing exactly what you are talking about with about 10 slots. This one coming up that is sold out consists of these packs.
1966 OPC Baseball Pack (can switch out for a 1967 OPC if folks prefer)
1970 OPC Baseball Pack
1971 OPC Baseball Pack
1972 OPC Baseball (3 Packs
Also Chris does a fantastic job with just about all the brands for Football Cases, and always gets breaks going on with the high end products...ie: 5 Star, Timeless Treasures, Inception, Exquisite, National Treasures etc, etc.
So I just wanted to support him and his case breaks for a moment. I have been participating in them for over a year now. So go check out his website if you have a chance and you can look through all the past breaks. Chris has been doing this for years, and has been featured in articles and interviews.
Back to our box/case break. Steve was flying out of town today, and I am emailing him with our list of products we want. Once I get confirmation I will start a new thread. This is going to be a very big break, our biggest yet that I have done. It may take a week to sell out as I had mentioned, so let's be patient.
I'll get more info as I recieve it.
Thanks,
Mike

The break is sold out? There is still one spot left on the site that I PM'd Charlie9 saying I'd take it a little while ago. Not sure who runs it though...

PM returned. I had taken two slots to fill us up but am willing to give up one of them to help grow the group. Thanks for the kind words Mike and sorry as I didn't mean to take the thread on a detour.
Is it possible to throw my request in now for what I want since I have to work 3PM til 1AM monday night?
Let me know...
Paul.
Later, Paul.

<< <i>Sorry guys, I bought the '79 cello box last night for myself. I didn't see that you were looking to break it. My apologies but I've already paid. >>
How can you not know this was part of the group rip? You made the 11th post on this thread.
