The best 90's inserts

Which out of the big 4 sports had the best inserts?

My choice is hockey

  • I'll vote for Baseball
  • I really liked the 1991 Donruss Elite set. They were so tough to pull but I love the looks of the cards.

I pulled a Brett and Henderson. My father bought me a Bonds. Just love the set.

I bought each one of the cards off ebay to build a set a few years ago.

I sold this set to a fellow board member, wish I would have kept it.

Because I collect '90s baseball, I want to say baseball; if I'm honest with myself, it's basketball.

    Wall O' '90s Favorites

Rather than take up a mile of screen, I posted them in one long line...so if you want to see them all, scroll to the right. Oh, and you probably shouldn't quote my post.

I vote baseball. I liked Leaf's Fractal Matrix line. Some others might agree with me on this, but the ugliest insert set is probably one of the most valuable- Finest's The Man refractor set is fugly as anything ever put out, and expensive to acquire.

Really not into inserts however alway liked the REAL ONE autograph cards with the Topps Heritage.

I’m a bit biased towards 93 Finest Refractors.

That sums up my thoughts exactly.

1992 Baseball - the first year of the explosion and so many were fun to chase.

Between the parallels, mail-ins, and exclusive inserts - like Jumbos only - it was fun times.

Some favorites - 92F Ultra inserts, 92UD Homerun Heroes and 92F Rookie Sensations.

And most favorably - the introduction of the 'signed' insert - like UD's Williams and Reggie autos.

Basketball. And while this probably is not the best example, my favorite insert is the '92-'93 Fleer Basketball All-Stars. Liked them enough to not just request a registry set for them, but also rip about 2 cases of some of the worst wax ever to try and complete a high grade set (still in progress sadly)

Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.
