I'm a GD idiot!!!!

Rant warning...hit back button now or forever withhold flaming!!!!

Just blowing off some steam for being such a moron! I started selling a few things about a month ago. Before I got the supplies to start printing my own labels I did not get delivery confirmation on every little cheap thing I sent off, and even neglected on a few moderately priced things. Now, I get a "where's my item" email every time I open my email!!!! I know, I know...I only have my dumb self to blame, but Jesus I know the USPS doesn't lose every other item I mail through them. It's just unbelievable how many cheap #$%holes are out there and will shoot every angle for a few bucks!!! In retrospect, I should have known this from the beginning and I know all of you are like "no #$%# idiot, of course you should have gotten DC on every item you sell on eBay, because it's full of scamming @#$%&%$"

So, lesson learned....I hate people and I pray to God that anyone who stole from me gets it back ten fold!!!!! (I know there are probably a couple of legit ones too)

I'm done,

    Where's my item?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • I know the feeling. Been there and done that.
I would have to say the USPS delivers 99%+ of their mail received.
Ebay buyers are scamming jerks and will rip you off whenever they can.
This is not to say that there are a lot of honest buyers out there.

I know you're new to selling on ebay and would suggest reading all the Paypal
rules to cover your butt. Now if you're going to start selling outside the U.S., that's
    an even bigger headache.

I have sent over 900 packages through the USPS this year without DC and have only had one person claim that they never received their card.

What kind of things were they?

Only asking because some types of items are more prone to scamming buyers than others. Vintage cards are usually not too bad relatively speaking.
  • I just print the PP label on paper.

Clear tape over the address, and the 4 sides. Never had a problem.

Do the labels ever come off in the printer? That's one reason why I never use them, I just don't know.

I think I probably sent about 30 things out without DC and I just got my 6th "where's my item". It has been mostly 1980's baseball, about half graded, half raw.

I have never had any problems printing off labels in my printer. Works great.

Bryan, I actually read everything thoroughly after you pointed out to me that anything over $250 had to have signature confirmation. I figured there were other things I better know!! Overall, this has been about a $100 lesson, so it could be worse I suppose.

One more gripe that won't surprise anyone...only about 1/3 of buyers leave feedback!!!! Any advice on how to increase this? And yes, I leave feedback for all buyers, ship quickly, pack things well, don't overstate card condition, etc.

FWIW, I work for a Friends of the Library non-profit group that sells donated books through Amazon...the past two months we've had more non-deliveries than the previous years combined. Can't be a coincidence. We send with DC and it's 50/50 that the tracking trail either stops at the customer's PO or tracking says it is delivered and the customer swears the didn't get it.

Some may be scamming but it's been happening way to often recently.

If you do print the Paypal labels, don't tape over the bar codes. Tape plays havoc with their scanners.

Interesting, maybe all the cuts have affected things. I'm sure a couple of these have been legit. I guess they all could be, but I'm just too much of a cynic to think so.
