1986 Piazza auto

Posted this by mistake on the BST forum...but wanted to share

Anyone want to venture a guess as to why I would buy this 1986 University of Miami team signed ball for $40? (aside for the fact that I collect UM stuff) First thought was $40 was high for the ball but then I realized something I hit the BIN.

It came in the mail today and im excited.

First to guess why wins an a pat on the back.

Bingo....hard to impossible to find his autograph as an 18 year old. This one will end up getting authenticated. Pretty cool huh?1986 University of Miami team signed ball ebay auction

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • i did go to "the U" in 86 and have 2 copies of the baseball media guide with Piazza in it so I looked for him on the ball. Lucky that I did the Miami Hurricanes team auto search that day.

    Did Piazza sign that twice?

  • Congrats
  • I think he may have signed twice...the small one looked like a tough spot and there was no other Mike P... or anyone with the initials MP on the team other than him. The larger one is clearly him...the small one has a #9 which was his number so it looks to be even a better score than i thought.

  • I once bought a 1953 Brooklyn team signed ball, the seller listed out the sigs and did not list Campanella. So it only went for like $600. I just wanted it for Robinson anyway. Well, when I go it, the Campanella sig was in fact there, just hard to spot. I was thrilled.
