Actually, I already have one in my set, PCGS MS63. The OP's price is fair or maybe a little generous, in my opinion. I paid $2500 for mine 6 years ago, and I had to work hard to convince the previous owner that I wasn't stealing it.
I've heard of 'em, of course. The Red Book calls them "patterns". Do they have Judd numbers as such?

The PCGS price guide shows the prices for the normal 1860 business strikes. This is technically a pattern, but as it fits so nicely with the Seated Liberty half dime set, is often collected as part of the set. The PCGS guide does not list values for patterns. One needs to research comparables in auction results.
