What do you think this 1961 Topps Babe Ruth would grade?

Hi,

My brother picked this card up in a trade today. He was really taken with the shape of the card, and wanted me to put up scans and see what everyone here thinks it would grade. He thought it was really weird because the centering on the front is near perfect, if not perfect, but the centering on the back is off left to right. In any case let me know your opinions.     I have seen front and back centering like that and worse before.

    The bottom right has a problem and (not sure if it's the scan) but the entire left side
    (front) looks wavy.


    If it is not trimmed I think it should 7.


    Others may, and will,have a different opinion.

    VERY tough card to find centered perfectly like that! I hate to say this, but it actually looks too perfect - I think there's a good chance it's trimmed.

    I agree with Steve about the problems with the card. However, it may be the scan. If the scan caused the wavy left edge, I think it may "8", depending on what's going on with the bottom right part of the card.

    I must agree, it does have a chance of being trimmed. Although quite often we find it is the scan and not the card. So assuming it is not trimmed, I think it looks like PSA 8, but the back centering may either get it an o/c qualifier or bring it down to a PSA 7.

    Beautiful card, please let us know if you submit and what it gets.

    MAN i really want to say 8. But the back centering makes me think 7.5

    if that very light rippling at the bottom border is as it appears in the scan, typically that shouldn't downgrade the card, so here's what i see:

    the centering is superb and the cut appears to be clean all around.

    the consideration for actually downgrading the card lies within the multiple tiny fisheyes within the black surrounding border, otherwise that surface looks really clean.

    the back cut will barely pass it and i think this card gets an 8 if they don't find a reason to reject it.
