    Hey Jim,

I'm real curious what cards come out of that tray and the condition of them. Do you know how these packs were sequenced? That would help in determining if they weren't tampered with as your odds of hitting Gretzky in any pack is small.

Here's hoping for the best. image

Packs look real nice. Cards are in really good shape compared to the 3 packs I've opened. Must be because of the case.

By comparing your rip with all the 3 pack trays I've ripped and the unopened boxs I can say that these were no doubt made by hand in some way. I can't say who built these but the one thing that is for sure is that the cards is 3 packs do not in anyway resemble packs from any box that I've opened. In an unopened box 5 cards from each sheet are cut and between them an insert is placed. The sequence of the cards in these 3 packs is fairly random except all the double and triples.

Thanks for ripping these cards. It's great for all of us watching for the big hit.

    I want a 1969 Football tray! Drooooooling!

Great rip! Wish you hit a gretzky. Next time hopefully
  • I remember getting the '79 Hockey trays as report card gifts from my grandmother. They were available in 5 and dime stores in Queens...whether or not Topps packaged them...

Where there really wax trays prior to 1967? That's the earliest pack I ever have seen and that was only a photo (I think it was in Mark Murphy's book).

nice rip and kudos for doing the right thing with suspect packs. I for one have opened many a crap for the pure sake of disposing of it

one thing to add, I had a couple 72 hockey trays which steve hart and bobby (forgot last name but producer of hockey pack guide) discussed at length and concluded were legit based on the packaging and codes on the wrap so you can add that to the list
