Is an unopened wax pack with broken gum worth less??

All this talk about wax packs got me thinking. I have an unopened 1966 Tarzan wax pack to go along with my complete set. The gum was intact when I bought it. I have noticed recently that something must have happened to the gum in the holder (maybe I set something on top of it - who knows), but now I can see the gum in several smaller pieces through the top of the wax wrapper. Does that make the value of the pack drop?

I don't think the broken gum itself would affect the pack's value. Just be careful that the gum pieces do not make tears in the wrapper.

Speaking as an unopened collector, I would pay a premium for a pack with an intact piece of gum as they are tougher to find and possess greater eye appeal. If you're buying the pack to open, however, I'd say there is no difference.
