ebay buyer protection vs paypal buyer protection

I opened a paypal dispute over a jerry rice lot, would it be possible to escalate it to an ebay claim? Which route(ebay or paypal) would i likely receive a refund?

I used eBay twice and it was very smooth and fast.

I never went through Paypal so I do not know about that avenue.
