Pirates / Forbes Field piece ?

Several years ago, I bought a large collection of cards and a few items of memorabilia. Included was this 4"x3" piece of slate, which measures about a half inch thick. As you can see, it has a Pirates logo centered in the middle, and then was covered by a clear lacquer. The guy who sold it to me said it was a piece of Forbes Field. Didn't think much about it, as it wasnt one of the items I was buying the collection for.

In any event, I came across it today. I'm not familiar with collectibles like this, so I was wondering if there is some way to authenticate it, or does some one know if it is legit ? And is this thing even worth anything ?

Thanks in advance ...

  • IDK How to authenticate it, but it would be cool if clemente played during the period it was taken.

They moved out of Forbes in the middle of the 1970 season. I'm not sure if that logo is that old. I could be wrong, but I associate that logo more in the mid 70s.

mlb.com says it was used from 1966-1987.
