Anybody buying this dip?

derrybderryb Posts: 36,793 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'd love to but I'm already all in. a bit premature on my part.

Plunge Protection Team is not going to let this dollar rally last long, it's taking equities down (along with PMs) and we all know they believe the Wall Street numbers are what keep the sheeple convinced the economy is A-OK.

Again forgive my ignorance. Where do you buy during the dip? What should the price(say an ASE ) be during this dip?

No need to forgive ignorance, this is the place to bring it.

Most bullion dealers price according to spot. As spot drops, their website automatically (or manually) drops their bullion price. APMEX does this as well as others. You won't find this on ebay listings unless the seller manually reduces his buy it now price. With dealers that do this, if silver spot drops $1, their sell price on a silver eagle drops $1. Large sellers adjust their prices either manually or automatically as spot prices change. While the premium (extra) on a bullion item does not change, its base price (spot) does.

What are you looking to buy and what quantity? Someone will chime in with where the best prices currently are, but you can start here:

CCC2010, just buy them from derryb. image

Depending how many you want to buy, have some places saved under your "favorites" and visit them when spot drops if you're in the market for some at that time.

% wise it's not enough to generate any interest.

if it falls and says below Sinclair's $1764(?)~ angel then i might revaluate what Ag is doing and go from there.

Gracias for the Gold Shark tool derryb! That is helpful with the ratings as a bonus.

I believe you had quite the haul of stunning 2011 Gold Eagles in MS70 so I do understand the "already all in" reference!

Funny thing, I too have felt all in at different times since 2001 until I wish I had more room for "more all in" or "the US Mint strikes again, all in!!"

Bigger the dip, longer the recovery.

Just like some months ago, I bought and it went down. Figure I order something and it will go down 9%. Just let me know when you want me to buy and drop the price for ya!

I bought today's dip but then bailed by the end of the day as the volume seemed to be declining in gold, silver, and miners.

The fact that silver broke slightly below it's short term uptrend line and has a declining 3/10 ema cross seemed to indicate a good chance of more weakness.
And a close under the 20 dma on both gold and silver doesn't help. Miners sold off more than bullion and on strong volume. It just feels like we could be
still sort of early in a week/weeks long correction. Sept seasonality may not be enough to offset the massive July-August run up in gold. I think at a minimum
will see gold move sideways in September.

I nibbled on a couple of 1 ozers this morning. I'm sure that helped drive the price down a few bucks.image

I am waiting on a bigger dip.

if it is dropping because the dollar is rising, and
the dollar is rising because of the Greece crisis, then

I'm surprised gold is falling. I'd think the Greece bankruptcy threat would be more of a benefit to gold than the declining dollar. I'd think gold denominated in $ and Euro both would be rising.

Hopefully, either way, we can see some cheaper metals for a bit.

Considering how strong the dollar has been lately is fairly impressive to see it hold its own so well.

Bought generic silver rounds from Gainesville.
FYI, coupon code "NIAUS" is still good for $5 off your order.

APMEX email says they have their own generic 1 oz. silver rounds for .99 over spot.

    edited to add "generic"

I know. I checked and it was still cheaper to buy from Gainesville if you don't mind generic.

Higher against other currencies? or Higher against oil or gold, for example?
