OT: 9-11 Wake Photos

I am sure most of you are tired of 9-11 tv stuff...but I hope if you find this follows the same, you can hit the back button.

The wake for the 2001 9-11 attacks took place on 9-11 2002. Until the last few years, and 2001, due to grounded air flights, I have always flown to Denver for its annual fall mineral show. Usually I would take a short vacation before or after, sometimes both. During 2002, I made a stop in Manhattan before the show to attend the 9-11 wake. In the past I have shared a few photos I took, but decided this year to post all the photos I have been able to keep from 3-4 computer crashs since.

Perhaps the most lasting memory of the wake is the reading of names, which took over 2 hours. Wishing everyone a safe 2011.

Very cool! Ironically, the 3rd picture down is from the elementary school down the street from where I work in California.

Thanks for sharing, sorry you lost your pics, not cool. Im from south africa so its hard for me to directly connect with this, however last night they screen the Nicolas Cage Movie- World Trade Centre about the two Port authority officers who were pulled out of the rubble. It really hit home and I spent most of the movie in tears.
