Any Interest in Tall Boy bags?

So, I have been searching for some bags to store my slabbed 3x5 cards in. I am pretty sure they are the same as Tall Boy slabs, measuring about 4.25x7.25. Currently I am using comic book bags and taping back all the loose ends. It works, but for a clean consistent look, takes about 4 minutes per slab.

I found 2 products from Uline.com that may work, my problem, I need 25 right now, and won't ever need more than 100, so I am fine with getting 100. Uline sells only cases of 1000.
Here are the 2 options I found that might work;

6x9 Crystal Clear Resealable Polypropylene Bags, with shipping ~$61 for 1000
OR
5x8 2 Mil Reclosable Bags, with shipping ~$55 for 1000

I was hoping to get a handful of people interested in lots in intervals of 100 at cost +shipping from me to you.
Any Interest and of those of you that are interested, any preference?

List
Alifaxwa2 - 100 bags - either bag, prefers the 5x8
yankees001 - 200 bags, 5x8

  • Try this site, I have been buying them for a couple years here and they work great and you dont have to buy 1000.

I buy two different sizes- one sgc slabs and one for psa.

Scott - so that's where you got those tallboy bags from!

Have you tried to see if the SGC slabs fit in the 4-3/16" x 7-1/2" yet?

No idea, i measured the slabs I have as 4.25x7.25, so there will be some slack on the sides.

For what it's worth, I think my wife has some interest in tall bag boys. I caught her looking at one at Whole Foods yesterday.
  • They have a small amount of slack on the sides but not much, really about the same as the graded bags for standard size. I do know if you get them too tight they will not work as the ones that fit great for SGC tallboys are too small for PSA's. Here is one size I use just not sure which its for- 4 5/8 X 9 3/4 I'll check at home later on them.
  • Speaking of graded card sleeves.....does anyone know where to get the normal size bags that fit PSA holders perfectly? Once in awhile I get a card PSA graded card mailed to me and the sleeve is slightly smaller than the regular ones. All of the ones I have bought fit SGC holders very nicely, but have much left-over room when used for PSA holders. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  • I'd take 200 if you go with 5X8.

Let me know if you know of anyone making these anymore. Maraya Cards used to send her PSA cards in the snug fitting bag as did Wayne Varner. I called both looking these and they said the supplier was no longer around. I called BCW about getting them to sell such a product. I spoke to a guy in their manufacting plant about getting some made but he said when you make as many as they do they size would vary and might be too small and not fit the card holder. My search continues.
