UBS warns of Euro banking collapse and civil war

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/bring-out-your-dead-ubs-quantifies-costs-euro-break-warns-collapse-banking-system-and-civil-war

"Were a stronger country such as Germany to leave the Euro, the consequences would include corporate default, recapitalisation of the banking system and collapse of international trade.

"It is also worth observing that almost no modern fiat currency monetary unions have broken up without some form of authoritarian or military government, or civil war." So you see: save the euro for the children, so we can avoid all out war (and UBS can continue to exist). The scariest thing, however, by far, is that for this report to have been issued, it means that Germany is now actively considering dumping the euro."

Spotlight is on European Union this week and it will affect all markets.

Actually, Europe is going to own Germany. The PIGS are already calling the shots, forcing Germany to react. German debt to GDP is 90%. The PIGS dont care if they themselves default, the Germans would be mortified of such action.

German population is about to boil over. Look for replay of riots there and look for them to take ruling party out.

Look at Iceland to see how good things can happen when the people say "no."

Really? The German govt. wont allow rioting, or should I say, put up with it.
they don't mess around there and allow such acts without imposing major suffering upon the people.

Really. Even dictatorships with a strong military are falling to "the people" who have had enough.

Except the EU has virtually banned the civilian ownership of firearms.

There's an old saw among loan sharks that goes something like: If you owe me $10,000, I own you. If you owe me $10,000,000, you own me (because I can't threaten to hurt you or "disappear" you if I hope you to earn the money to repay me)

Does Germany have much of a military? They will probably use the 50K U.S. Troops stationed there for riot control.

So did Britiain, but that didn't stop the riots.

  • Europe will reunite under default more then anything else. It will happen, it's just a question of when.
I know one should never say "it will happen", but it will.
