Opinions on Custom Card

I'll be the first to admit that I love the custom cards this board creates. I have a small pile of cut signatures I collected over the years and never could figure out an aesthetically pleasing way to display them. After seeing the customs you all create, I knew you solved my problem of how to display. Well, I've been feeling a bit sick this weekend so decided to give my first custom a go. I'd love to hear some feedback on what you would change, what looks good, etc. Positive and negative - lay it on (the red area is the area that would be cut out).

I like it - nice job!!
  • If you are not going to slab them, I would make the bottom border bigger on the cut out area. Also, I personally have a cheap computer and while if I used photo paper, that might come out alright...I would however be worried about so much black. That never prints well for me. Are you printing on cardboard? Perhaps a test print is in order.

I also like the custom's better when they have a card back.

I do like the design itself. My only thought on it is to make sure it was a design I would like most of them done in...as I would make mine match. Of course this is not needed....but at least I would want subjects to match.

I have never made a custom card so the thoughts of others should outweight mine I imagine.

Jon .. WTG! Looks nice! I know you want the Presidential Seal to be in the background, but I think it may look nicer if it was brightened up ... almost like the flag.

Great points all - exactly why I asked you guys!

I agree the cut out portion should be moved up. I also plan on having a back, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Personally, I like the black background... I also plan on using a printer at my office which is a full color laser, so I'm hoping the quality will look decent (and yes, will print on cardboard and slab). Thanks again!
