Question on auction catalogs

Hi,
Aside from eBay is there any place I can purchase Stack's auction catalogs? Does Stack's sell "back issues" ?

I do not believe that Stack's sells previous catalogs, though there is the possibility that they may have some around.

There are two forum members who sell auction catalogs:

Karl Moulton aka firstmint: www.coincats.com

Bryce Brown aka PreTurb: brycebooks.squarespace.com

I have dealt with both parties and this past and can recommend both.

You can add me to that list. I have Catalogs for Coins & Currency and other pieces of Numismatic Literature.

The current Kolbe & Fanning auction (Sale 122, closes 9/15/2011) has a number of Stack's catalogs available for bidding. Their web site link (numislit.com) is listed above. They have the auction catalog for Sale 122 in PDF format for downloading.

In addition, the various numismatic literature dealers often have the more common catalogs in stock, for immediate purchase.

It's funny, but the rarer the catalog is, the more likely some of the bigger dealers will stock it. Some Stacks catalogs from the 50's and 60's are only worth $1 or so a piece so many aren't kept. If you are looking for a "name" sale, one or more of the dealers barndog listed will likely have it. If you want to know about specifics, post or PM.

I also have many duplicate auction catalogues for almost every auction in the last 10-15 years.
