Check out this FAKE Bobby Jones Sports King that sold for $100!

While I feel bad when people get conned, I don't feel like I should have to educate EVERY SINGLE PERSON on what to look for in regards to "fake/reprint" Sport Kings.....

Well..the colors are off on the front. The huge gap between the type and the border on the reverse is another sign as well.

I understand why people want to buy raw cards, but this is one reason why I prefer to buy the higher priced cards in graded form.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

I feel bad for the buyer. The seller claims he paid $70 for it (I guess he couldn't tell it was a fake either!)

For those of us who rarely dabble in pre-war (myself included), I'd love to hear your thoughts on things to spot on fake Sport Kings. Educate us.

Well...the washed out colors is one tell-tale sign. Another tell-tale sign is the fact that you have quite a bit of space between the end of the type on the reverse and the bottom of the card. A real Sports King card will not have that much space....

...and here is a fake. If they leave you enough room to sign your name at the bottom of the card on the reverse, then you got hold of a fake!
