U.S. Postage Stamps -baseball

Slugger Ted Williams will win a spot on a US postage stamp next year.
The last baseball player to hit .400 for a season, the Boston Red Sox star will be honored on a forever stamp, part of a set featuring baseball players. Also included will be Larry Doby, Willie Stargell and Joe DiMaggio, whose stamps were announced earlier.

Definitely will pick up a sheet of each. Stamps were my first hobby as a kid. Still have most of them and about every 8 years or so i get into them again. Almost due for another interest in them

I like the one of the ballparks they did a few years ago. I have a sheet of those around here somewhere

Thanks for making me dig out and dust off my stamp collection. Starting looking through them again after this post, went and bought a latest Scott price guide. I actually have a quite a few old stamps that catalog for $200+ I got really into it for a couple years about 10 to 15 years ago. Glad I held on to them. Keeping with the subject at hand, here are a few of the baseball ones I picked up more recently.

I know Lou Gehrige was on one years ago with a few other players. I can't remember the year though.

  • I just inheirited TONS of that modern USPS baseball stuff from a stamp collecting friend and I can't give it away. Anybody who wants some at face value let me know. Or, I have the ballparks professionally framed that I'll get rid of cheap too.
