Great BIG thanks to Mike (MICONELEGACY)

Went to my mailbox today and received a nice surprise from Mike (Miconelegacy). Over the past 6 months or so Mike and I have spoken a lot about the horrible illness (CANCER) that has effected my little girl, my wife and Mike's wife. I know that Mike appreciates speaking with someone who has/is going thru the same crap that he is going thru and this gift was his way of saying THANKS!

Sitting in front of me right now are the following five packs:

BASEBALL: '75 OPC and '94 UD SP

BASKETBALL: '80 Topps, '96 Finest and '03 UD SP

Now what should I do with them?????

STAY HEALTHY!

Doug

    Hey Doug,

If you don't rip them, I can send Eric over there. I know he has no problem ripping them.

    Great gesture Mike!!!

    Let's see some scans!!!

You have to excuse Doug, he is old and just got his power restored (and I'm not talking about his house). image

OK ... to all you wiseazzes (LOL) here is the start. I don't know much about the shiney stuff, but I think I was looking for an A-Rod in this pack. No A-Rod, but here are 4 of the better 8 cards from the pack. That HoloView of Floyd looks real kewl in person!

Here is the '80 Basketball. Got a little excited when I saw Magic's name, but NOT the card I was hoping for.

The reason I showed the gum was because I DID take a couple of bites. At first it was not bad, but within 10 seconds there was a real funky taste in my mouth ... had to spit it out!

Well ... nothing in the '75 OPC. Here are the best 4 ... the other 4 were either very o/c or MC. Got an MVP (Robinson/Clemente) but it was MC.

Mike ... THANKS AGAIN ... it was a lot of fun!

  • Thats all it was supposed to be. If the Allen looks good might be worth subbing.

Great stuff Doug. I would be just as lost as you with all the shiny new stuff, but they are fun to look at.

Now if we could finish that box break so Eric can rip some 1980 OPC!!! image

Great gift. Good luck to both of you. Doug, the Allen Iverson is one of his better (eventual HOF ) Rookies. Only that one and Topps Chrome are of note.

Thanks guys. So I guess only the Iverson and Hamilton MIGHT be worth grading? Would I need a "10" for them to be worthwhile?
