My opinion they have been kicking the can down the road so long. They truly believe that's what they were put in office for.

They are spineless, clueless, unconscious, & with out morals. The hippy generation spared the rod & spoiled the child.

We are now seeing the consequences! JMHO Peace, Tim

No one in power seems to be helping... at least so far are not having any effect. In fact, it would almost seem that those in power seem more preoccupied with getting their own share of the loot.

Whoever ends the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will look like the one who "fixed" the heavy deficit spending.

Yeah, wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc, etc, military occupation of over 150 countries....endless wars on poverty, drugs, terror....not to mention the Constitution and American citizens.... when will we ever put an end to this? Who do we have to blame but ourselves?

I'd say the middle 30-40% of American people who felt they were not represented any more, a.k.a. Tea Party. These are the people who finally said enough and shined a light on the problems created by the last few administrations.

  • Tea Party members are former Mccain supporters. They couldn't stand the idea of a black man being elected so they stole Rick Santelli idea for a tea party. As he proposed from the floor of the Chicago Exchange live on Cnbc. I think Rick's rant was directed at those who purchased more house than they could afford during the boom years. The economy was stalling prior to 2008, just reference the archived Economic Prediction thread on this forum. The Keynesian school of thought is that when the consumer pulls in the government increases its balance sheet. The republicans will flounder in 2012 just as Obama has. I haven't heard one Tea Bagger candidate offer any plans for change, they can only answer a question by attacking Obamas track record. All this partisan grandstanding and finger pointing is just a distraction from the real issue. The US is on the ropes and new politicians are not gonna change the outcome. Your blatantly political rant doesn't belong here.

  • The point of my rant is to not get distracted by the name calling and finger pointing in the media. The situation is past the brink. Listen to the proposed solutions being offered, not pin the blame on someone. I thought I provided enough fact to slip in an opinion. Thats how its usually presented here. If I offended you I apologize, and I will keep my observations to myself.

Tea Party members are former Mccain supporters.

    Incorrect. Hugely and grossly incorrect.

They couldn't stand the idea of a black man being elected so they stole Rick Santelli idea for a tea party.

    Wildly delusional, and incorrect.

As he proposed from the floor of the Chicago Exchange live on Cnbc. I think Rick's rant was directed at those who purchased more house than they could afford during the boom years.

I'll give you a "correct" on that one, but it wasn't just about the "boom years" and it was more about what happens when people are allowed to game the system because the system is set up to allow it.

The economy was stalling prior to 2008, just reference the archived Economic Prediction thread on this forum.

Correct, sort of. It wasn't just stalling, it was teetering right on the ledge overlooking the Grand Canyon.

The Keynesian school of thought is that when the consumer pulls in the government increases its balance sheet.

I believe that Keynes acknowledged some mistakes in his own theories later on.

The republicans will flounder in 2012 just as Obama has.

There aren't many Republicans in Congress, so this may be a moot point.

I haven't heard one Tea Bagger candidate offer any plans for change, they can only answer a question by attacking Obamas track record.

Clearly a derisive remark driven by ideological leanings.

All this partisan grandstanding and finger pointing is just a distraction from the real issue.

Note your immediately prior statement, which is in fact name calling with no particular contribution in itself.

The US is on the ropes and new politicians are not gonna change the outcome. Anyone thinking that their party can change the situation hasnt been following or comprehending the information or opinions provided here at CU. Read as much as you can from as many different sources as possible and form your own opinions. Don't let others serve your opinion to you.

A statement of fact was made. You responded with a political diatribe.

To keep this metal related. Over the last year I have slowly had to sell all of my gold and silver. You see I've been out of work since Aug. 6 2010, times are hard brothers and I don't see them changing anytime soon.

This is a personal revelation, and I feel for your plight - but it is not metal related.

I could also share some personal tribulations, but I'll keep it general. When a socialist wants to keep power, he trashes the economy in order to create more people who are dependent on government support.

Santelli's rant was essentially, "who wants to be responsible for your neighbor's mortgage?" That rang true for most working Americans, and nobody stole that from anybody. As you may recall, the original Tea Party was about unjust taxes and overtaxation.

There are some similarities in the circumstances between 1775 and today.

Good question. How long before the new government in Libya turns it into an Islamist state?

I expect an increase of .50 gallon tax on gasoline soon. O'Malley in Maryland wants to raise taxes again. $4.00 gas for sure here no matter what oil does. Lets stiflle the economy some more, but Maryland is buffeted because of its promixity to D.C. until Washington decides to get rid of some U.S. Departments like Education at $90 Billion annual budget.
