Real or not real? 1807 Capped Bust Half Dollar
I'm posting this on behalf of an eBay seller. The coin is mounted, and there are no pictures available of the reverse.
Real or not real (and why do you say that)?

The mushy strike paired with the relatively sharp details is unrealistic.
What do you see that makes you say fake rather than altered date?
Mark just wrote me and said the same thing, that it was fake, not altered.

I'm willing to bet $1000 that coin is completely fake. Everything on that coin is wrong! The denticles (or lack there of), the stars, the weakness in the center of the design, the whole "fabric" of the coin is just terrible. It's likely a cast counterfeit, and if not, it was struck from some really awful transfer dies. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not even silver.

It's the starfish variety!
Look on the reverse for a "B" mintmark. I'll bet that one was struck in Beijing.

Date numerals are all wrong. Bottom loop of 8 is smaller than the top. 0 is too wide. Vertical shaft of the 7 is too fat at the top.
Letters in LIBERTY are wrong.
I've never owned a Bust half in my life, but that's what stands out to me.
