Does anyone have the Krause 1601-Date 5 CD....
And how do you like it?
Does it show current values?
Is it user friendly?
Will I have a hard time ID'ing stuff?
How are the illustrations?
Is it worth the $99 bucks?
I'm in the market to update my old Krause, but see I can get the whole deal on CD for not much more,
allthough I would prefur a hands on book but...........
Thanks for any and all suggestions and opinions.

They haven't implemented one single improvement since I sent them my long missive of usability issues when they originally rolled out the system. The interface and search still massively suck.
That said, it's still more useful (and cheaper) than the 5-DVD set, IMO. I have both and almost never use the DVDs.

Don't get me started on how many things are incorrect, missing, or otherwise screwed up in these books, including pricing, which was never a high point for Krause. I find the older books are actually better and use them more than the new ones.
I think I paid $60 for my set (current issues as of this date) and even that was a waste of money.
Just use the old ones. They are cheaper, and the prices are no more out of line than the current issues.
BTW, I did make one effort to get something corrected once. The guy said he would and didn't. Needless to say, I no longer volunteer corrections. Why repair a sinking ship?
