the post office lady

so i was waiting all day for my psa delivery per the tracking number. she usually delivers to my door around 1130 but i waited all day for my 2 psa boxes. finally at 5pm i gave up and went to get my regular mail at the boxes which there was a key for the lock boxes. inside there were my 2 psa boxes. these are required to sign for!!! so anyway i get the rest of my mail and throw away these junk in the trash can right next to the mail boxes but the this delivery slip caught my eye laying on top of the trash. i picked it up and found my address ,my forged signature and name!!! hmmmm i dont know what to think on this?? lazy? i dunno. what to do. ??

Could a friendly neighbor have "done you a favor" by signing it?

  • << <i>i think if i rat her out she's unemployed. she forged my sig! >>

I guess the question I have is do you mind her forging your signature?

If you do, you know what you must do. If you don't care who signs your name, then you have other problems.

Talk to your local PostMaster General. They absolutely want to know about this.

    She should be TERMINATED.

Forgery would not go over well with me. If the postmaster gives you the runaround you can always file a forgery complaint with your local PD/SO/etc..

My post office delivery guy signs for stuff for me all of the time. I let him know in advance if there is something real special to not or I go pick it up at 8:30AM so it never goes out on the truck.

If this is not an arangement you have then definately report it.
  • So you live in a condo with a communal mailbox with individual locks and there are also a couple large depositories for packages which also require separate keys.

And your PSA packages were safely locked away in one of the large package depositories while the key to access the package depository was safely concealed and locked within your personal mailbox.

What exactly is the problem here? My mail carrier does this all the time. Once he even left the wrong key and I had to wait until the next day for him to leave the correct key, after which I retrieved my package. Who gives a crap if the mail carrier signs your name for you as long as the package is locked away where the only people with access to it are you and the mail carrier?

Whenever the package is too big for one of the package depositories in the communal mailbox (or when there are more than two separate residences receiving packages on a given day), the carrier knocks on my door and gets my real signature. He doesn't sign for me and then leave stuff unsecured at my front door (something which UPS has done on multiple occasions, but that's a separate issue). He only does this when the package is protected by lock and key. I prefer this, as it allows him to leave packages requiring my signature even when I'm not home.

  • my mail carrier leaves me blank forms to sign. I leave several signed ones in my locked mailbox. when he leaves me a package I have to sign for he takes one of the pre signed forms. been working for 6 years with no problems.

I'd talk to her to be honest. It's a tough job and could have been a rushed day.

+1.................My Mail Lady does this for me all the time, Saves me the hassle of having to drive into town (Live in Rural Colorado) to get my packages or wait until Sat because I don't get home until after Post Office closes for the day, and as said, my packages are locked in a Box at the start of the Dirt road, that only I have the key to.

i agree, im not turning her in nor do i live in a condo, its a house duh!

she has never done this before and nor do i have a agreement on this. i pay for this service and expect this service. i dont mind driving to the post office when i miss her, this day i was waiting all day for, the lock boxes are ok, not totally like a bank vault, these get vandlized by kids all ove the us. i dont want 1k sitting in there for days. i am also a firefighter wwho works 24-48 hour shifts. i decision is just talk to her and tell her please dont do this again, problem sold nobody gets hurt.

  • I'm guessing the delivery slip that was in the trash had some mistake, so the mail carrier tossed it and filled out a fresh one for proper record keeping.
