Home PCGS Set Registry Forum

I just started my first registry set.

I started the Lincoln Cents Basic Set, Circulation Strikes and Proof (1909-Present). image I have 6 coins so far (fortunately one is the 09-S VDB), and am already ranked #22 (out of 23). image

Registry Sets are fun yet addicting at times. image

image by already having the 09-S VDB checked off the list.

Good luck on persuing each coin as there are many in this Set.

PM me if you are interested in adding some, as I have quite a few I`m looking to sell image

Edited to add: OC, NJ is a longtime vacation spot for my girls and I. (We have a condo in Margate we use from time to time)

Welcome to the Lincoln Registry!! Careful not to get hooked on those varieties! imageMel
  • If you only have six Lincoln cents, You've got at least one of the best ones--unless you talk to the Matte Proof Lincoln guys, who live and die by their short but sweet series of super-coins. For the rest of us, the 1909-S-VDB is one of the most iconic coins of all of numismatics. As kids, that was the coin that meant you have arrived.
Improperly Cleaned, Our passion for numismatics is Genuine! Now featuring correct spelling.
  • I'm looking forward to this. I was always on the fence about registry sets, and most of my coins are raw. But, I purchased the 1909-S VDB in 64RB (rattler) with some money that my grandmother put away for me for after she passed away. I bought it as something that I'll have forever to remember her by. This coin completed my Lincoln set. But, since all my other coins were raw (and some probably wouldn't grade at all, let alone grade high), I decided for this coin to start my PCGS Lincoln set. I'll purchase PCGS coins to replace the raw ones. My current goal is reasonable...to concentrate on 1934-present in 66RD or higher. I don't expect to ever have the #1 set so I'm not necessarily concerned with pop1 coins, rather I'll purchase the highest grade before the price becomes unreasonable. I've been having a good time looking up specific coins on Coin Facts and figuring out what a decent price is, etc. My one cent collection (1793-present) is so close to completion, that I haven't really bought coins all that frequently, only when I could raise enough money to buy the next key date. It's like, getting back to one's roots.
