Transportation Tokens.

I have probably around 100 transportation tokens, mostly from the East Coast, and have no way if properly attributing them. What is the best reference for these pieces?

The standard reference is The Atwood-Coffee Catalogue of United States and Canadian Transportation Tokens. Based on eBay records, though, transportation tokens are not a hot collectible area at the moment. You likely won't even recoup the cost of the book. Sorry.
  • That's fine. I don't collect to make money, that's why I invest. I collect to enjoy. Apparently it's a 4-volume set with 700-900 pages each. Sounds like a good read.

Prices will go up if ATS starts slabbing them. They have slabbed many tokens including Conders, HTTs and CWTs. Recently they started slabbing Heraldic Arts commems and Masonic pennies. So while they haven't slabbed TTs and you may not want to count on it, you never know....

These are fun tokens to collect and with a little patience and very little cash one can assemble large
collections. There are many varieties to seek and some of these are quite rare in high grade yet
can be had for the price of the common tokens. It's a great place to learn the nuts and bolts of col-
lecting for some people and they are very instructive for geography, statistics, and the history of trans-
    portation.

This simply requires time and effort. The cost is just insignificant until you become quite advanced
where tokens can run upward of a couple hundred dollars.
