I saw the items in a case at the shop, but was not certain if they were all solid sterling or some could have been silver plated bronze or copper. I went home and quickly looked them up and had to hurry back, as the shop was near closing and would not open before I left town in the AM. The clerk told me she liked watching Antiques Roadshow and seeing people find bargains..... She said the sale made her day, and asked if I went and looked them up. I told her yes, and that if they were all as I thought, it made my day too.
The platinum I did not see first pass, and spotted it among some military medals on another shelf. I had no idea how much platinum was in that little baby, but decided even if it was only 1/100 of an ounce, I would not be taking much risk at $22.
