Ebay auctions ending over Labor Day weekend....yes or no?

Is running auctions scheduled to end over next weekend a good or bad decision? Just wondering if I should list stuff or hold off?

From personal experience I never sell a lot during holidays except around Thanksgiving thru a week or two before Christmas. I never do well on other holidays. Others may have better luck then me though.

I've found sellling over Labor Day is OK.

If someone goes to the lake, they still have ebay on the phone. Also don't forget the snipe bids.

Very common stuff could be hurt but rare items are being looked for all of the time and with the mobile Internet options I can't see anything impacting results.


It is easy to Check EBAY and since most auctions are at least five days buyers have plenty of time to prepare.

Are you talking about items that are thinly traded, or ones that are dependent on a few people to make their market?

In either of those cases, I'd be worried. Otherwise, a few less people seeing the item won't make much of a difference.

Examples: A '63 Mantle PSA 7 is going to hit its price at any time. A PSA 10 regional that's important for a player set could be killed if 1 bidder misses it - because there may be only 2 people who really want the card.

I've had decent luck with better deals on items I've purchased that ended on a holiday. I choose to avoid selling items that end on a holiday.
