old typesets -who are they

Does anyone have info on the complete typesets since the coin details of the top two are not provided? Are they real sets and why no details?

High Desert often posts here. The big boys keep their set details cloaked for personal reasons. I suspect competition has something to do with it, not to mention security...

Who's the other? Eliasberg? Long dead. But one of the most famous collectors of all time. No, I guess Eliasberg is only on the all-time list. Which list were you referring to? (Geez, I only started seriously playing on the big set a short time ago... I still don't have the rankings in my head, without looking... all I know is, I'm somewhere around #16, where I made my debut.)

  • Jim Swan #2 is an occasional poster here as well. High's set is hidden because that is his personality. I once got a chance to see what coins were in his #1 ranked 20th Century Set, and they were very nice. Well matched set with a lot or really cool coins.

The Swan set is supposed to re-open, with pictures of all of the coins added to the set in the near future.

Seems to me I got a peek at the HD Modern set, too, once... wasn't the curtain open briefly, around the time I was a newbie?

  • Right around the time High hit 100%, he opened it up for one day. He's upgraded dozens of times since then, but the coins he had then were amazing. I want to say it was right around the time you joined LM.
