What is your take on platinum?

If platinum is predominately an industrial metal with most of it uses in the auto industry - how would the conversion of gas powered to electric powered vehicles affect its future price?

Platinum is primarily used as a catalyst - and not just in autos. Review the reasons why any chemical process needs a good catalyst, and you will get closer to the truth. A good catalyst lowers the threshold energy for a reaction to occur, and a good catalyst also is durable, tough, and resists fouling & corrosion under hostile conditions.

Platinum is pretty good at those things, and there's about 1/10 as much platinum as there is gold.

    Thanks jmski
I was looking to diversify out - have about equal amount of gold and silver in terms of value but very little platinum. Been looking for 3 weeks but find very little. In fact only scored once with 8 quarter oz pieces

It's denser than gold, as you will note when you hold a raw 1 ozer in your hand. And it doesn't tarnish like silver. And it's 10X scarcer than gold. And, and, and.....image
