What date in 1986 was the Gold Eagle released?

Hi there. Working on a story for the 25th anniversary of the American Eagle program.

Does anybody know the first release date of the coins by the distributors to the public? I'm pretty sure it was around Oct. 12, but need the exact date if anybody has it.
