OK right below the navigation button there are the customize, profile, etc buttons. Click on your profile and click on turn on or accept private messages.

ok go to it again and click on the box that says allow private messages!!! Then click on the update profile button at the bottom of the page.

Step:
1. click on "profile"
2. Go half way down and click the circle next to "allow Private Messages" to say "on"
3. Go to the bottom of the same screen and click "update Profile"
