Even if you don't collect Japanese or Korean coins, be sure to check out Heritage's upcoming Norman Jacobs Collection auction catalog. The coins are outstanding and the catalog descriptions educational. Most importantly, read the two page bio on Jacobs. It's the stuff collectors' dreams are made of.

    you said it! It is all drool material - but don't stop at that. The world assortment is more than nice.

    The Dr. Jacobs material is in its own separate printed catalog from the other world material.

    I agree with Andy. Heritage outdid themselves with the catalog. It's a keeper. And the prices realized will undoubtedly reflect that.

    A similar 1770 NR 8R sold in NY in January for $50k + 15%, down from $70k + 15% in 2009 (same coin). I don't expect this one to fetch more than that.
