Hi The seller says he thinks the blue color is from a long ago cleaning.

Toning is off but perhaps it was stored improperly somehow.

Remember, the 1909 VDB is a super common coin, even in MS grades, so it isn't the most expensive or hard to find Lincoln Cent out there. Of course it is also highly demanded so it isn't dirt cheap either. But since they are plentiful, you can afford to be super picky if you're just trying to find one example for your collection. If I am being super picky about this example I'd agree that the luster definitely seems muted and isn't all there, again, likely an older cleaning and retoning. Also, being super picky, the mark in front of Lincoln's face is a little distracting and the couple small spots near the lower rim on the obverse under the date drew my attention. But if you've seen it in hand (or know you have a good return policy) and you really like it for whatever reason, I'd guess that it's worth around $15-$20 tops.

You could probably get a much nicer looking specimen for about the same or a little more. This one looks very dull (little lustre).

Alan, you can do much better. As illini says, these are not difficult to find, they are not expensive, and many have been saved in excellent condition. Why buy a problem one?
